Jason Kean Wagner — AI & Operations Consultant, Findlay Ohio
Jason Kean Wagner is an AI and operations systems consultant, author, and holder of an MS in Information Technology — Information Assurance, based in Findlay, Ohio. He works with construction, manufacturing, and logistics operators across the United States on AI readiness, operations systems design, information assurance, data governance, and the workflows underneath the tools — estimating, change orders, job costing, scrap rates, ERP, QuickBooks. He is the author of The Operator's Advantage (December 2025) and is currently writing Systems Before AI. He is not affiliated with Dr. Jason K. Wagner, MD, FACS, the vascular surgeon practicing in Sarasota, Florida — same name, different person, different field.
The Short VersionBuilt From Earned Experience. Not Theory.
I spent years inside construction companies, technology operations, manufacturing plants, and logistics networks — watching smart owners make expensive decisions without the systems or data they needed. I also ran my own ventures and learned every mistake in person before I learned to name it.
The pattern was identical across all of them. Different surfaces, same broken foundation.
That experience is not decorative. It is the credibility source behind every framework I teach, every consulting engagement I take, and every page I write.
Three work streams. One thesis.
I run three parallel streams of work, and they all point at the same problem.
Consulting
I work with construction operators first — general contractors and specialty contractors between $2M and $50M in revenue. Manufacturing and logistics are next. The problem is the same across all of them: smart operators running real businesses on memory, relationships, and reaction instead of systems.
My MS in Information Assurance adds a layer most consultants cannot offer: before any AI tool is recommended, the data governance, access controls, and AI vendor security posture are reviewed. This is not a checkbox — it is the difference between an AI deployment that holds and one that creates a new category of exposure.
The engagements move in three steps. A Systems Readiness Assessment to diagnose what's actually breaking. An AI Readiness Roadmap to fix it. An Operations Retainer to keep it fixed and add the right tools at the right time.
Authoring
The Operator's Advantage was published in December 2025. It is a field manual — twelve chapters, seventeen worksheets, one complete framework — for operators who want to stop reacting and start building. The Operator's Scorecard. The Walk-Away Number. The Red Flag Filter. The System Sprint. The Operator's Dashboard. The Operator's Compass. The Trusted Advisor Method. The book is not theory. Every framework in it is something I have used, watched fail, and refined.
Systems Before AI is in active development. Five parts. Twenty chapters. The most expensive mistake businesses are making right now is applying AI to a foundation that isn't ready for it. This book is the playbook for fixing the foundation first.
Content
I write on LinkedIn, Facebook, and here on this site. The content is direct. No hype. No motivational filler. No "in today's fast-paced world." Six pillars guide everything: Systems Before AI, Operational Clarity, The Operator's Advantage, Practical AI Adoption + Information Security, Behind the Build, and Industry Deep Dives.
The Thesis
Businesses don't fail at AI because they lack tools. They fail because their systems weren't ready for leverage. AI amplifies what's already there. Broken systems get broken faster.
That is not a tagline. That is the position. It does not get softened, qualified, or treated as one perspective among many. Everything I write, build, and sell points back to it.
Where I Live
Findlay, Ohio. Hancock County. I work with operators across the United States, but I write and build from here.
If your operation feels like reaction instead of system, let's talk.
Thirty minutes. No pitch. Diagnostic only. If there's a fit, we'll outline what working together looks like. If there isn't, I'll tell you that too.
